individualising blogs

oooh I am having a bad day trying to make my blog look more individual. Found a gorgeous page template on another site but it won't accept it here. Booo hiss! Everyone else's sites have well cool headers etc. so I'm getting abit disheartened. Oh well maybe concentrate on something I can do well.......make another cup of tea.
