Hi and welcome to a lovely sunny Somerset, and the latest Glitter Girl challenge. This week she has challenged us to use stamps as backgrounds. In the video, GG used proper background stamps but sadly I don't have any so I improvised. Here is the video:
So as I have been making my craft room I came across two photographs taken about 5 years ago when I first moved to Somerset and my mum and I went to see The Red Arrows do flyover across their local shopping outlet Clarke's village. And here is my page:
I had a chevron, arrow stamp from a magazine so I stamped an arrow background using both red and blue inks as these are the predominant colours The Red Arrows plume from their planes. I then layered my two photos onto some red paper and added some red and blue Washi tapes across the bottom and underneath the layered photos.
I then addedd two other areas of Washi tape and added some stamped arrows from Sn@p to continue to theme. I used 3 different letter stickers but looking back I feel I really needed some larger red stickers for the word ''Red''. I then punched some circles from blue and white patterned paper and found some wooden planes in a Studio Calico collection to add to the centres. The small flags under the circles are from Jenni Bowlin and I wanted them to look a bit like medals. The star stickers are also from Jenni Bowlin. I also added some blue and red sprintz.
I also added some hand embroidery using Amy Tangerine's stensil set. I will be doing a review/tutorial about these later.......................
Here is a close up of the upper righthand embellishment grouping.....................
As an aside, my giveaway is still live on this post
so if you'd like a to win a fabulous book then go read and leave a lovely comment.
Love all your little details. I saw a post recently where someone had taken a set of heart stamps and used them as laid out in the pack to create a background stamp. Might be worth giving a try if you have a suitable set.
ReplyDeleteGreat colors and all your stamp choices really support the overall theme of the pictures. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteLovely photos and they look great in this layout. The chevron is brilliant for the 'arrow' theme. I absolutely love the embellishments you have layered up.
