No doubt many of you lovely readers will have heard the sad news that Google reader is closing shop in July 2013. Why? Well honestly I don't know but I'm sure you can imagine the grinding and knashing of teeth here in Curlyscrapbooker land. I was with much trepidation that I foresaw the loss of the lovely blogs I have found and love to visit all because someone somewhere thought it was a good idea to shut Google reader.
Well happily there is a new guy in town - I know I just wanted to say the phrase. He is the awesomeness that is bloglovin. I mean even the name is cooler. So off I hop, skip and jump to this new site and hope upon hope that transferring over my readership data will be easy. I mean, how hard can it be?
Well the answer to that question is Easy peasy lemon squeezy. All I did was open an account and add in my Google reader info and they searched it, found it and put all my lovely blog reading into a beautiful list of loviness. Now everyday at 3am a beautiful email hits my inbox and says my bloglovin feeder has been updated. Even better I can read and link to the posts direct from my Inbox. I feel like the cat that got the cream. There are happy dances going on in Curly world. You can also download some pretty buttons for your blog so readers can link to you via bloglovin. You can also link to Facebook and link your blog back to bloglovin in order to check your statistics.
The latest introduction to their repatoire is an iphone app which you download for free here
Yes not only did the Swedes bring us Ikea, meatballs, The Girls with the Dragon tattoo, the Skarsgaard acting family, ABBA and heaps more, they also gave us bloglovin and LOVE IT.
Happy Monday xxxx

Yay, well done Jo! Time I looked at this issue too, before it turns into a problem instead...
ReplyDeleteAm already following you on Bloglovin Jo. Wasn't sure about it at first but after a few weeks I am quite enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteI have joined bloglovin ... Well I did as soon as I heard the news. But as yet I've not moved over, if I'm honest, I'm doing that bury my head in the sand, and hope that google change their mind :)
ReplyDeleteI have joined bloglovin too and like you really enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI've also made the move to Bloglovin' recently and I'm hoping that it will help me to keep up with everyone (including you) a little more. Bit of a chore sorting blogs into categories though, right? :)
