So this weekend I spent most of Saturday trying, and failing, to complete my JYC journal, but in my defence it's almost there. Above is the page for 6th Dec with Wells reindeer parade and no before you say who is that strange female reindeer that's my mum after the mulled wine!!!!!
This is the front cover which has an acetate to protect it and then a simple tag with JYC on it and the year. I made the covers from mount board which I get free from my local picture framer. They just give away the off cuts.
This is the page for the past and is an early picture of yours truly with my mum at my grandparent's house. My poor mum looks tired and pale. I loved using the scrabble letters I had in my stash cos it reminds of me olden days when I played!
This is my birthday page and has a few pictures of pressies I received and a present label.The pictures I printed out are terrible but poverty means we can't afford expensive printing at the mo.
This the tree page. I cute a triangle of paper into strips and used a chipboard tree shape as a mask for some green glimmer mist spray. The presents are stickers and brads.
This is a bookmark for when the journal is completed and is the chipboard piece I used as my mask. I painted it green then sprayed abit of glimmer mist on then added different coloured Stickles to look like lights and baubles.
This is a minibook I am making for the once a year page and is made from a Starbucks Christmas cup and holder. I will write journalling inside and then adhere to the page I think. The wrap holds the book shut.
Above is just a print of the travel journal I have made for my sister's trip to Dubai and S. Africa this coming week. She wanted something simple so I have kept the pages relatively plain, just a few patterned paper edges and stickers, abit of stamping and some storage envelopes for special memories. The covers are made from mount board again and covered in patterned paper. The front map I found in my stash and is brilliant. I have added small coloured brads to their destinations and everything is held together by rings so she can and move pages around as necessary.Today I had a lovely invitation from my parents to go to lunch with them. My dad picked me up as I am still car less until sometime this week. We had a lovely roast and then went to their friend Betty's for tea and cake which was lovely. Betty is in her 80s and this time last year was told she had only a few weeks to live as she had Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Well she had chemotherapy and is still fit as a fiddle. She is one inspiring lady and I love her to bits.
Anyway, hope you have had a g8 weekend whatever you've been doing. I'm off to read Dolly's 2nd prompt for 52 in 10 and then to later watch Larkrise to Candleford and Being Human..............bliss.
