10 things on the tenth............

So I am still full of this horrid virus. This morning I left the flat to see the Dr. Now I am on Lithium for the Bipolar I can't take alot of drugs so all she was able to give me was a decongestant. So lets hope it starts working cos being sickly is making me tired.

Anyway on a lighter and less mucousy note, today is the 10th of the month and so we join the rather glittery Shimelle to share ten random things with you. I wasn't sure what to share today, bearing in mind the sickness so I have been really pathetic and decided to share 10 TV shows I love.............
They are in no order of preference so here goes.............

Being Human.................the best horror/comedy show on BBC3 ever. I have watched it since series one and the most recent season saw alot of changes of the key actors had moved on or were in the process of moving on. Surfice to say, there was some fan concern but the new cast members and the stories have been strong and so this series was as great as the last 3.

Homeland.......................I am still on catch-up but this US drama starring our own Damian Lewis and the lovely Claire Danes is a cool thriller on Channel 4. It charts the story of a US POW rescued after 8 years in Iraqi captivity returning to the USA. Claire Danes plays a CIA operative who thinks he has been turned into a Sleeper agent for Al Queida. It is clever and twists faster than a Z-bend around Snowdon.

CSI Las VEGAS.....................by far the superior of the three shows in the CSI family.

CSI- New York..................ok,ok but it has Gary Sinise...................what more can you ask for in a TV programme.

Bones..................I love this programme about the early life of Temperence Brennan. Kathy Reichs is her creator and I love bother her novels and the series. The stories are quirky and the detail exceptional.

Dr Who.......................... oh come on do you really have to ask why? I mean Daleks, River Song and The Dr. Cool or what?

The Big Bang Theory....................... the funniest group of science nerds ever. I love Sheldon who is so off the world but super clever. The comedy is really funny and the stories never tire. I could watch the episode with Sheldon's million and one cats again and again.

The Mentalist...................... another crime drama from the US but with a different slant. The main character uses his psychological dexterity and showmanship to figure out who done it. The main badly Red John remains at large and we await his next dastardly deed.

Silent Witness................................I've watched this since Amanda Redman led the cast but I do enjoy the trio of Leo, Harry and Nikki. Each week there is a new story and ok they get over involved in the case and annoy the police but it's a drama.

Sherlock........................well Benedict Cumberbatch is very pretty and the scripts are so clever. Being as how the writers are also the writers for Dr Who it couldn't fail. We're all dying for Benedict and Martin to stop at playing at being Hobbits and dragons and get back to telling us how Sherlock didn't die in his Reichenbach Fall. I've got my ideas. How about you?

Anyway do you have time to watch any of these shows or do you have some of your own faves to share with me? Do tell.

  7. I've seen most of the U.S. shows and think of them as my "laundry shows" (things I record and watch while I do laundry).
We have "being human" here, and I wonder if it's the BBC version or not? I'd love to check out Sherlock (will look for it).

  8. I agree about CSI Las Vegas but do not like CSI NY at all. I also like CSI Miami. The only other on your list I watch is The Mentalist but we DVR it and are going to play catch up this summer.

  11. What a very interesting list. We rarely watch any TV - unless of course it's football season! I do recognize several of these as ones my parents have mentioned lately though.

  12. Big Being Human fan here - I was wondering how the series would be without Mitchell, George and Nina but still enjoyed it.

Love Silent Witness too but ever since French and Saunders did their version it has been known as Witless Silence in this house LOL!!

Great topic for your 10 - might do this at a future date

  13. We are all big Doctor Who fans here and I'm glad to see Silent Witness return, there's a nice dynamic in the casting. I'm absolutely loving Homeland, it gets better every week. I've got Sherlock on my Lovefilm list so that I can watch the final episode again for clues! Something else I really enjoed was One Night, shown across four nights on BBC1 a couple of weeks ago.

  17. Oooo, you've got a lot of my favs on your list Jo, not too sure I like the new ghostie on Being Human but I'll give her a chance when its back on again.
Havent seen Homeland yet, but its on my "to watch" list.
Have you heard of Finder yet? Bones season 6, episode 19 called The Finder, where an old army buddy of Booths helps them find some treasure & therefore a murderer - It is now its own spin off series & is rather fab, especially when characters from Bones cross over at times. Not as clever as Bones but still very good.

  18. Hi again Jo :-) I'm upto date on my Bones as well, watching it the same way as you. This is also how I found Finder, not shown in the UK yet. Loving the relationship between Bones & the baby, emotions v's fact/common sense.
    xx

  21. hi Jo~I don't watch much TV~I would rather craft:):) but I have heard of a few of these programs!! Thanks for visting today~

  22. I'm slightly embarrassed that I don't know many of these shows. I'm not much of a TV watcher. The only time the TV is on is when I'm working out with a DVD or watching a movie. I'll have to check out Sherlock because I do love Sherlock Holmes.

  23. I have to say I haven't watched the majority of them but I absolutely loved the last series of Being Human. With the departure of the majority of the main characters I wondered where it would lead but the new ones have been fantastic. Loving Hal.

The kids watch Dr Who and were disappointed there wasn't an Easter special. I can't say I noticed lol

The other one I watched was Sherlock. Loved every second of it. Benedict Cumberpatch is an amazing actor. My theory is something to do with the laundry truck that was under the rooftop and the help of the lab lady whose name escapes me just at the moment. I wonder if we will ever find out?

  24. Has to be the BBT, my teenagers have got me addicted to this one, take care, hope you feel better soon x

  25. Aw, sorry you're feeling poorly, I hope you feel better soon! Great list of programmes. I'm watching Homeland on catch up right now whilst blog reading (have to multi-task or not enough time!) - it's an awesome programme. I also love Big Bang Theory.

Have you seen Castle? (Channel 5 or Alibi). If not you should try watching it - your love of crime solving / comedy means you may well like it! It's my favourite programme right now! x
