Glitter Girl Challenge 4 - a bit of fabrication.

Hi there, and welcome back me. Sorry I haven't blogged for a while but the Bipolar hit hard and I'm just starting to get a bit of my mojo back. So time for this weeks Glitter Girl challenge.

This weeks challenge was a new one in some ways as it was to use fabric in your layout. Watch the video here to see Glitter girl's interpretation................

I knew exactly which photograph I wanted to use - it's of the mega dessert my sister made for my birthday meal last year and the candle I bought to go in it. I knew I would be using glittery colours and also red because of the colours in the dessert and because it was a celebration and Christmas as well. I just wasn't sure about the fabric bit. I thought I could use a small strip or make some flowers but in the end I went with simplicity and used a piece of Moda fabric with a red background and a creamy spot.

So I used piece of black cardstock and splattered the page with silver glimmer mist to make it less dark and pick up on the explosion of fire from the candle. I mounted my picture on a plain patterned paper of ledger paper and then mounted the picture directly onto the fabric. Then I found some stickers I liked and some red buttons plus red twine. The heart in the top left of the photo and is cut from some collage paper I made a while ago using music paper, lace, patterned paper and stitching. I stamped the date and used some washi tape to make an embellishment in the top right hand corner. I also found a lovely Prima ruffled ribbon with diamante across the middle and I placed that at the bottom of the layout. All the journalling is written in a white gel pen. I then used glitter thickers in black and silver, and some small red Jenni Bowlin letter stickers for my title. I also found some tiny red heart shaped brads.
