Hi everyone and welcome to the third of Glitter girl's challenges. This week is all about journalling.
Here is the video for you guys to watch as well.................
This layout was kind of planned after last weeks one as I found the photograph at the same time. When I made the album for my sister's 40th birthday I made a few doubles of the printed photos as I really loved them This one is of my sister when she was a toddler and was taken in the front garden of our home in the New Forest. I can't believe she's wearing this bright green dress as my mum always professes to never having worn or made us wear the colour. Go figure. Anyway the photo is just perfect a display of my sister's mischievous nature and the bright red handbag gives it an amazing focal point. You need this big picture to see what the other picture misses.....................
In this photo, because it was taken so long ago, there is no way of knowing exactly what was going through my sister's mind because not even my parents can remember. The most important things I see though are her happiness, sense of fun, the bright colours and what's with that bag? So the journalling story had to be about those elements.
''Despite plenty of research with my parents, no-one can say
for sure when this picture was taken. We know it is in Ringwood
and that Rachel was around 2 or 3 years old. She is holding
a big red patent leather bag from other pictures on that day.
Despite not knowing anything concrete I LOVE this picture
it completely encapsulates my sister's personality''

Lovely pages! Don't red and green go well together? Your sister's grin is so appealing, she was obviously so happy when that photo was taken.
ReplyDeleteSuch precious photos.

What a sweet photo! Rachel looks very cute and cheeky. I remember having a little handbag too - I'd forgotten about it... It was white patent, very shiny. I was proud of it.
ReplyDeleteThe little green dress is really lovely - she looked great in it.
I like that you didn't shy away from bright colours to put with this photo. The flowers on the embellishments are fun and the yellow background is cheerful. It really makes the most of the photo. Great page!
What a glorious photo! You have made the very most of this without it being overwhelmed - and the colours just add to the sense of bright mischeviousness!
