Storytelling Sunday: with just a little charm x

Good afternoon and welcome me back to blogland. I have been away for a month, can't believe it. But what a great way to start posting with Sian's meme ''Storytelling Sunday''. If you have never read these posts then you are in for a treat. On the first Sunday of the month we all share a story and this year it is about something precious. This month Sian suggested something which we perhaps carry with us or use as a lucky charm. For me though ''charm'' was the word and so I got out my silver charm bracelet.

I have had this bracelet for as long as I remember. It was a gift from my godmother who I actually saw yesterday. She can't remember why she gave me that particular gift other than she thought it was a traditional baptismal gift. I also asked my parents why they chose Felicity and they said probably because they thought she would be responsible and reliable. And in all honestly, she has been a wonderful godmother to me and even though I am now 47 years old, she still sends me gifts and supports me in anyway she can which is something I truly treasure.

On my braclet there are many charms but I have chosen my fave 3. Firstly is this little fella, the stork and baby which is what I assume was my first gift. The baby is minute and moves in his beak and the stork's legs move back and forward so he is quite intricate.

The second is the this one, a merry-go-round. I loved these when I was a child and if I still could I'd still ride those musical horses like a little girl. The horses go round on the charm too which makes it unusual.

Third is this lovely key which I received for my 18th birthday. A key is traditionally given as you're meant to get the key to the door or something along those lines.

I also love the heart shaped lock on the bracelet and it really strong which means I haven't lost it. Phew. Hope you have enjoyed my story today.

  4. I certainly have enjoyed your story today. Your bracelet is beautiful: I love how every charm has a story behind it. I do love a merry go round too..saw a great double tired one in Belgium when we were away, you would have been taking pictures of it just like I was :) That key is beautifully shaped too isn't it? Love it! Good to see another post from you pop up, as always

  7. I love charm bracelets and the memories and stories that each charm can evoke and bring to mind. I have a Pandora bracelet and each of the beads has a story to tell too. Definitely very precious! x
