Celebrating Blog Friendships.
Hello and welcome to Celebrating Blog Friendships a party put together by Lizzie and I to celebrate 1 year of Blogging for Scrapbookers for alumni of the class, but primarily to enjoy the friendships we have gained not only from the class but the world of blogging. So I am the final person on the party list, you should have visited nearly 30 blogs on your party trip,if you've come here first please hop over to Lizzie's to begin or else the competition process won't work. If this is your final stop then hope you had a wonderful time, so now you can put your feet up and relax. No more taking your coat on or off, getting into the car/plane, you can have a drink and some cake from the birthday table and enjoy this final party.
If you have come here first then please go to Lizzie's blog first or else the competition process won't work correctly and you will lose your chance to blag a fab prize.
Speaking of which I have great pleasure in announcing that we have been lucky to receive 2 prizes from 2 fabulous scrapbooking teachers.
The first prize is from our very own Shimelle Laine, online and workshop class tutor extraordinaire. It is her fault we all met in the first place so I think a prize from her is only appropriate don't you. Shimelle has been super kind and is offering a place on a class of your choice from her long list of fabulous classes. The next one is Journal your Christmas so if you've never done it, go for it. Anyway it's your choice which is lovely, thanx Shimelle.
The second prize is from Debbie Hodge, the creator of Get it Scrapped a fantastic site again with a wealth of classes to choose from not just in scrapbooking but photography and art journaling. Debbie has very generously offered a subscription to Masterful Scrapbooking which is a new initiative looking at different aspects of scrapbooking design and processes. Each month has a different theme, this month is embellishment, and different teachers like Jenni Bowlin. There are articles, downloads, podcasts and loads of extras for $10.99 and with the loss of so many scrapbooking magazines it is like having an online mag of amazing stuff. So thank you so much to both Shimelle and Debbie.
In order to be in with a chance to win one of these fantastic prizes, you should have been collecting some letters on your trip around all the blogs which make up a phrase, the last letter is '' R '' what I need you to do now is to send me that phrase in full to my email address which is:
josowerby[at]yahoo[dot]co[dot]uk
All entries should be sent by 12 midday GMT on Friday 12TH November.
For me, Blogging for Scrapbookers has been more than being a place to talk about and meet fellow scrapbookers and crafters, it has been a place to meet and develop some amazing friendships. I have been lucky enough to meet people from all over the world who although we have never met, through our discussions online and via email, have become friends. We have supported each other through funny times, sad times, changes, ill health, new lives and more. It has been a privilege to be a part of their lives. I have even had the opportunity to be invited to visit,........................I WILL make that trip ASAP and do the things we had planned. My aim for the next year is to organise a bloggers get together somewhere in the UK so I can meet my amazing friends and spend quality time with them. So in organising mode this is what I am proprosing.......................................................................................
I have checked when Easter falls and I am looking at staying at a Youth Hostel either in Iron Bridge-Coalbrookdale or Stratford on Avon on the weekend of Friday 8th to Sunday 10th April 2011. The cost would be £23.00 per person per night on bed and breakfast board. Both the places have educational facilities so we could have a room for scrapbooking and both have Wifi so we can Skype abroad. That would be fun!!!!! We could have classes taught by our International friends too, at scarey hours of the day, hee hee. Both are also close to Stratford and Iron Bridge Gorge so if family members wanted to come as well and enjoy the local sights they could. So now it's up to you guys, I would really LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to organise a meet up and it would great to have as many people who felt able to come along. Plus announcing it now means we can save up a few pounds a week to pay for it.
Finally on this auspicious occasion I would like to thank you all for joining us on our inaugural alumni party. I've had great fun with Lizzie organising and finalising everything, but it would never have happened without the girls who have kindly bloghopped along and demonstrated their love for crafting and friendships. Thank you for taking part. And to you readers who have hopped along through the party blogs thank you for joining us, I hope you will all leave quietly as I don't want to disturb the neighbours.
But before you go my prize is a book,........................Blogging for Bliss,
well we do blog for bliss don't we? If you'd like to have a go at winning this fabulous book, then just leave me a comment and I will draw a name at random on Friday when I draw the grand prizes. So this Friday 12th November 12 midday GMT.
So finally lets blow out the candle on our 1st birthday cake and make a wish for .................................... now that would be telling.
Jo Jo xxxxxxxx

ReplyDeleteWow, I got here at last! This is a lovely final post in our blog hop. Thank you so much, Jo, for all the hard work you have done, to organise this - you did far more than me! It has been great and it's mostly down to you.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I decided to sign up for BFS last year - I've discovered some great blogs and websites, learned loads about scrapping, crafts, cooking and all sorts of other stuff; but most of all, I have met some truly amazing and wonderful people, all over the world and made some Great Friends - among whom I am proud to count you!
I love your idea of meeting up, though I am not certain about the Easter holidays... I will need to check with DH about our plans, as I think we're supposed to be visiting friends in Cyprus that week :-0
The Youth Hostel at Stratford was lovely when I stayed there (years ago lol!). It was in a gorgeous old house, just a bit outside Stratford centre. I had a great weekend away there, with a friend. Haven't been to the hostel in Ironbridge, but stayed in Telford a few times, while DH was working there - a good place to spend half-term with a kid in primary school; so much to see and do!
Mega-thanks to you for organising our Party and for your enthusiasm and great ideas - it wouldn't have happened without you! You're fantastic, Jo - love you loads!
I've really enjoyed this trip, thank you so much to everyone who took part :) it's been fun! Jo, your blogging weekend sounds wonderful, I bet you'll have a really good time :)

Thanks so much for organising this Hop Jo, I've had a wonderful evening meeting with blogging friends old and new! It's so good to see how much other people value blog friendships, I've tried to explain it to people I know and most just don't understand. But I know you all do so that's okay!
ReplyDeleteI'd love the chance to meet up. I'm not sure if I'll be able to work out babysitters and train fares though. But I'd really really like to meet some of these lovely people in person! So maybe!
Thanks again! x
(P.s. Don't put me in the draw for the book, I already have it - I won it off Sian a while back!) xx

this has been an amazing blog hop and I have come across some amazing blogs that I didn't know about before, as well as various bloggers who were really familiar to me but through completely different routes! Such a small world! Amazing talent out there and such fun. Would love a chance to win a prize and I'd like to say a huge congrats for making this so successful and such a great experience, also for those who are not part of the "inner circle"!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done! It was a great blog hop, I've really enjoyed popping in to see blogs I already know and also discovering some new ones.
ReplyDeleteOne thing in common with them all, and that is that bloggers and scrapbookers are a friendly bunch! Here's to another year (at least!)
Made it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for organising this Jo. It's helped me to find loads of new blogs even though I didn't take the original class.
P.S. I would totally be up for croppy weekend.
Been trying to email but it isn't working...I don't want to put it on here to spoil it...what can i do????
ReplyDeleteThanks for organising such a great blog hop, I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at everyone's blogs over the weekend. Some I have on my regular list, others are new to me, so it was lovely to see some more inspiration and the lives of others.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this bloghop. I have enjoyed looking at all these old and new blogs! Off to check my phrase again as one letter seems to be wrong!
ReplyDeleteaware there is an error in one of the letters on the hop but i am accepting that anyway.
ReplyDeleteJo xxxx
Jo. I'm sorry I didn't have chance to hop around this weekend, but I'm so very glad that you managed to celebrate both your class and your blog-friends in such style.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to check that I'm free over that weekend (and it's close to my birthday so I'll be calling it a treat to myself) and will be hoping to join you.
Send me an e-mail with all the details? x
Thoroughly enjoyed the hop. Missed out on signing on for this one but maybe next year. I can't get the last half of the phrase to make sense (maybe I messed up in writing some down lol) so won't be emailing but welcome the chance at the book. Thanks, Jo!
