Look up Look down x

So another week, another Look up and down moment with Helena. This weeks has a musical theme..............

If you looked up last night through the rain, you would have seen this poster and the excitement building to see this incredible show.................

If you'd looked down you'd have seen my ticket which was my second trip from my birthday gift from lil sister. I took her as my plus one as she has never seen Cats and loves dance and the theatre as much as me.

Somewhere in my craft room is another ticket for Cats but dated many years ago when I visited New York with my friend Louise. We bought half price tickets in Times Square to see Cats on Broadway and it was a wonderful night. Last night was just as wonderful, not only for the wonderful music, the extremely talented cast and the stories of all the different cats, but primarily because it was a night to share with my sister, whom I love dearly x

Well actually this is only Look up, do you think that's ok?


Primarily because the other night this sight was all I could see and I wanted to share it with you all.

Just beautiful. What more could Ipossibly add to this post?

Haven't done this in a while so thought I better had. Today is windy and drizzly so not ideal for a walk but I went anyway to see if it would blow the sad away but it didn't. But I saw some lovely things as I went.

If you looked up at just after 6pm last night you would have seen the clouds illuminated by the sunsetting. The fact it was beautiful was good, the fact that it's dark way too early is bad. Give it acouple of weeks and it'll be getting dark around now. Yuck.

If you looked down on my walk you'd have seen this minute spider's web nestling amongst this plant, I think it's  a sedum but I'm not sure. All the tiny raindrops were settling onto it and glistening.

If you looked up you would have seen the farmer driving his tractor across the field. One job that never stops for rain.

And yet another spiders web with the beautiful spider that designed it. Spiders are incredible creatures.

You would have also seen the raindrops on these leaves, perfect droplets.

And I'm sure a few birds will be happy to find these purple berries for a snack today.

Look up, look down x

Well this week has been a bit of a funny one, mainly because I've felt so ill but thankfully I am feeling much more myself again today. So to the case in hand, Look up, look down in association with Helena.

If you'd looked down the other night, you'd have seen much activity from two very happy and lovely children. One was painting dinosaurs red and blue, and the other was digging for gemstones with a plastic hammer and chisel. It whiled away alot of time before bed while there mum and dad spent an evening out.

The next day if you looked up, you'd have seen my friend Sarah and those two children walking back along The Cobb  while we waited for the sea fog to lift.

You would have also seen the multicoloured kayaks adorning the harbourside

If you'd looked down about an hour later you'd have met this rather nippy customer while we were out rockpooling. We caught two, showed them to mummy and then put them safely back in their pool.

You might have also seen two old friends comparing nail polish, mine pink and hers lilac.

If you looked up by the harbour you'd have seen an old Victorian price list for all manner of interesting purchases.............

and if you'd looked down at one stage on the beach you'd have seen Graham building the perfect sandcastle apparently.....................

And finally at the end of a long day and me starting to feel very yucky, we sat and had some wonderful fish and chips in Charmouth, they were delicious....................

Hello and welcome to another week of photography using the idea of Looking up and down with Helena.

The weather has been rather warm, oh who am I kidding it's been proper hot here the last feww weeks so looking down you would see my hat and water bottle while I sat outside..............

and my flourescent pink toenails....................

Looking up these beautiful Passionflowers were in bloom...............

and Frosty was trying to keep cool....................

the cricketers were running fast.........................

looking up Willow was sleeping on the window ledge next to the cool breeze............

and looking down the butterflies were loving this lavender...................

Hello and welcome to this week's edition of Helena's photographic phenomenon ''Look up, look down''. So last week the parents came to visit and we had tea on the lawn, well it's more a grassy knoll in the middle of the car park outside my flat.

If you looked down you would have seen the lovely pot of tea and my gorgeous tea cosy keeping the tea warm................

this is my dad pulling a silly face, he never smiles normally for photos,

and here is my mum looking ultra glamorous as always...........

If you looked up while I trying to be uber clever with my photography, you'd have seen the tomato plants my dad brought over for me laden with lovely fruit, and oops my ponytail got in the way

And if you had looked down there would have been my Persian Willow disgracing me with her impersonation of a broom and covered in leaves................hula skirt anyone?

Hello and welcome to the weekly photographic meme ''Look up. Look down'' in association with Helena. I am really loving taking part in this adventure every week and so onto  today's photographic selection.

My friend Claire and I have jokingly discussed starting a Facebook fan site for the local cats and if you look up on the wall you will see the sleekest grey cat in our patch the inimitable Leo, isn't he beautiful?

If you looked down at my body while I was sitting outside you would have seen all manner of bugs and insects which seemed to find me pretty darn attractive. Must be my sunny disposition ha ha. This rather blurry creature was a brown ladybird, sadly he kept fidgeting hence the blur.

Again looking down you could clearly see the dappled shade of the trees which was a welcome sight because lo and behold a rather strange event has been taking place in Somerset and looking up you just might see this..................

Yes that incredible celestial body known as THE SUN has been making rather a wonderful appearance. For me it has provided a well needed lift in mood and enabled me to build up my natural defenses against depression without having to turn my S.A.D. lamp on again. It is a wonderful thing the sun and I am enjoying it a great deal.

I hope when you look up you can see it too x

Look up, look down x

This week on Look up, look down I am taking you on a magical tour back in time to my nursing trainee days. As many of you know I trained at The London Hospital in Whitechapel from August 1984 - December 1987. Last week I went back to see the old girl and oh my goodness I was prepared for what I found. Very sadly the whole of the main old hospital was boarded up behind a fence!!!!!! I nearly died of shock coming out of the tube, honestly I did. But despite this shock the rest of the new hospital was pretty amazing. All 17 floors of it.

So if you looked up you would have seen to the right John Harrison House where I lived for just over a year on the ground floor initially and then the fifth floor. If you count up 5 you can see my friend PJ's balcony on the far end. The left side of the picture is the new hospital.

Count up 5 here and the very end balcony was mine and Anton's, yep I had to share with a guy. He was ok though.

In the foreground is the Princess Alexandra School of Nursing and the round building is where we had lectures, including that lesson on hat making. Behind it again is the new hospital.

Looking down the street you can see the new hospital and this has been built over the site of the Luckes Home, the second place I lived after moving here.

Later we met PJ who was over from Oz and looking down from her hotel you could see The Shard..........

The Gherkin.......................

and The Tower of London and Tower Bridge.............................

and after dark, pretty..............

I stayed with my friends Bob and Kirsten in Bow and the next morning we walked along the canal for breakfast and looking down watched the barges coming through the lock..............

and then looked up at the Olympic Stadium and heard them sound checking for something.

It was so lovely to catch up with my friends, friends are the best x
