Hello and welcome to another scavenger hunt update in association with Rinda of Gallo Organico. Each summer she sets us a photographic hunt of pictures we need to take and share. I have done this for the past 2 years and love it. It is fun and also makes me think. So far I'm doing pretty well and here are my latest finds.......
We needed to find a police car and I found one sitting outside my local train station on my way to London. This is my police van normally I would have got our local police in the market square which if you've ever watched Hot Fuzz is where the guys sit in their car eating cornettos but this was way easier......
We also had to get some fences and again these were for the Glasto arrivees, we do so love herding in Somerset........
A sunset at my parents the other night...............
These are some benches around the gardens where I live....................
Next some clouds in shapes, well don't laugh my brain sees these images but can you?
You can see the handlebars top left and the sort of wheels bottom right
The horses head is to the right of the leaves with the legs below.................oh who am I kidding but I CAN see it
and here is my windmill along with another beautiful sunset. This is a lone wind turbine on the Mendips and means I'm nearly home when driving from Bristol.
So I hope you are also having fun finding your photos I've seen loads around the net recently x

Project 365 week 4
Good morning everyone and welcome to another edition of Project 365. I'm a bit behind behind with the posts but thought I would try to catch up a little.
I am really enjoying this challenge and finding the photography aspect very easy to achieve. I take my camera everywhere and seem to find the right things to photograph. So here are the week 4 pictures:
The first one is Real, I chose this screen shot of a new idea from Time to Change because mental health is very real for me and I feel this little card will help others deal with me more easily:
My friend Alan came down to visit so became my Guest portrait........
This is another screen shot, didn't know what to do for Transparent but then I read this article about Nicole Scherzinger's dress problem.............
This is my amazing friend Lucy who Makes me smile..............
We are lucky in Wells to have two famous cats, this is Maisie the Bishop's Palace cat and she was Outside......
My mum helped with this one finding lots of Red ornaments around her house, this one I played with in Picassa to highlight the colour more
And finally this is a Blood pressure machine in my doctor's surgery and you have to put your arm Inside.............ps it hurts like mad
So what did you choose for your Project 365s??

Storytelling Sunday - nursing items.
Good morning and a warm welcome to the second episode of Storytelling Sunday 2013. If you want to discover more about this adventure, then please pop on over to visit Sian at From High in the Sky our dear hostess. You'll probably find her crafting away upstairs, or if the other days post is anything to go on, pretending she's a trolley dolly in her kitchen with the not so small one!
So without further ado, I would love to tell you the story of these small but important and precious items. Oh sorry, forgot to say this year Sian has challenged us to tell stories about some of our precious things. So back to my items. To look at they don't look like very much but to me they are cemented into the fabric of the tales of me leaving home to train to be a nurse. I remember buying my collar stud in a local menswear shop in the town we lived in prior to the family upping sticks and moving all the way from Sussex down here to Somerset. That was 1984. I spent the next 2 weeks sewing labels into my underwear, don't ask, and buying other necessary items that all young ladies about London Town need. Come the day of August 15th 1984 we all drove up to the East End of London, the place I would live for the next 3 years and three months.
So why the collar stud you might ask, well I'll tell you. When we were first shown the uniform for The London Hospital it was all in various pieces in a big plastic bag. It consisted of several pale purple check-lined dress in Irish linen, 4 buttons with big shanks on the back, several white starched collars with purple stitching, and a starched white pinafore with a bib and cross over straps. Plus another bag with our hats in. So the first thing we had to learn was how to put our uniforms together. The buttons on the dress were individually pinned in places, as were two buttons on the pinafore. For the colour, we needed 2 tiny safety pins to pin it into place and then the collar stud to close it. Neat. Once the uniform was all put together, and we had learnt how to make our hats, we all looked like this..................
Now during the past week, there has been much excitement in my house because if you watch the BBC TV programme ''Call the Midwife'' you will know Jenny is about to go to work at The London and wear THAT uniform. So whilst reading The Radio Times I discovered the uniform was designed by none other than Norman Hartnell, designer to The Queen no less. So to say I am proud to have worn my uniform is a bit of an understatement.
Now fast forward 4 years, and we are all lining up to collect our nursing certificates and The London Hospital badges from Claire Raynor. The badges were designed by Sir Gerald Woods Wollastan. You can read more about the design here. To be given that badge meant joining a group of amazing people who have made the decision to train and work as nurses and also the historical ranks of amazing nurses who trained and worked at The London Hospital. I will always treasure it along with my time at The London.

Glitter Girl challenge and a catch-up
Hi everyone and welcome back ME. Life has had a rather busy sting of late so all my lovely blog plans went slightly out the window and into the snow. Yeah it SNOWED! Did you notice?
Anyhow, I am now back and managed to do this week's Glitter girl challenge. This week was all about colour and how to use patterned papers when you've got a photo with loads of colour. I actually had a photo with a big colour of grey and so used that as my starting point. It's a collage I did when I made lil sis's 40th birthday album. I got some small pictures on it which I thought I would use at a later date and it felt just right for this challenge.
So here is my layout......................
The picture is about 8 x 6 from Boots and I loved all the little images. Because the predominant colour was grey I felt I could go with quite bright patterned papers and went for a bright floral design and then added in some accents of pink, red, yellow, blue to highlight colours with in the collage pictures themselves.
Although you can't really tell, the thickers are black glittery letters which I felt was good for a birthday/celebration layout.
If you want to see Glitter Girl's video you can watch it below..........
Also it Snowed and South Horrington looked like Narnia. Willow being the cat she is went out playing and I caught her for another layout.............
I am a little behind with Project Life because of life events but I sat down and watched some online TV the other day and made a load of card inserts of the right size ready to get it organised. One of the things I have decided to do is add in my Project 365 photographs each week as a collage which is really easy to produce using Picassa.
Here are my collages for weeks 1 and 2.................
I'll be back to explain the week 2 and week 3 choices probably tomorrow. Picassa is really great for screen captures too.
Anyway hope you are all safe and warm wherever you live and I am counting the weeks down to our bloggers meetup in March.

I love the colour shading in this set and all the elements are just me.
From Studio Calico comes a range of 12 x 12 Placemats, which if I read the info correctly can be used as part of a LO or as a mask for your pages. I wonder if you could cut some of the pieces apart to make frames?
I also quite like these vibrant arrow stickers.......
and camera stickers...............................
and some cool speech bubble masks.........................
Then from Cosmo Cricket is a range called TV Dinner.............
I really like these papers and elements, the brads are beautiful.......................
From Jillybean soup comes this lovely range of stamps, my faves are actually the ones with the butterflies and the word banners at the bottom but the picture on their site included them all so you can have a look see. I do love the papers in this collection called Cucumber Soup as they are perfect shades for spring and early summer...................
From Jenni Bowlin come these lovely new chipboard pieces with clocks on them and below them are bingo numbers....................
If you .love Tim Holtz and Ranger then you will adore the new Distress paints which come in a wide variety of shades to match with the distress inks, pens and crackle glazes.................
Tim has also developed a dry glitter here in rock candy which one of my favourites in the Stickles range of glitter glues.............
